The Turracher Höhe, located on the border between Carinthia and western Styria, may not be one of the largest ski areas, but it is one of the most attractive. The lake is also available to skiers, when they use the snow taxi that drives over the ice as a connection between the Sonnenbahn and Panoramabahn lifts on the other bank. The Turracher Höhe, whose pistes used to be limited mainly to the very attractive Kornock, has been constantly expanded over the past decade. The Turrachbahn, located to the north-east of the lake, in particular, has some challenging carving runs that are wide and steep enough for fast skiing and are hard to find their equal. It is not for nothing that one of them is called "Adrenalin".
The ski cross course that leads from the Kornock into the valley is also attractive and has numerous curves and jumps to master. The 1500 meter long XXL Funslope is also fun - both attractions were recently expanded. There is a kids slope for children. There is also a snow park, as well as a freeride area, two signposted touring routes and an avalanche transceiver checkpoint. Most recently, investments were made in expanding the ski area, the Schafalmbahn cable car with six kilometers of new slopes. Depending on the snow conditions, it is also possible to explore the ski area.
Overall, the Turracher Höhe also scores points with its natural landscape and winter offerings that meet all requirements. Winter hikers get their money's worth on the 24-kilometer-long paths on the Turracher Höhe, as do ice skaters, who have a great natural ice surface at their disposal - after all, the Ice Polo European Championships have already taken place here. Ditto guests who appreciate special culinary delights such as the Ski Soup Festival and high-quality hotels. In the shadow of the Hochschober as a leading company, the other hotels have also put in a lot of effort and raised their standards - such as the Schlosshotel Seewirt.

A special feature On the Turracher Höhe there are the piste butlers who are out and about when the sun is shining and serve free champagne to skiers and snowboarders. Europe's first bacon humidor can also be found on the Turracher Höhe, in the K-Alm.
