This winter, the world's best Nordic all-rounders will meet again in Ramsau am Dachstein on December 20 and 21, 2024.

The competitions in the 1999 World Championship venue have been a fixture in the Nordic Combined World Cup calendar for years, and the difficult trail in particular pushes the more than 100 athletes to their limits every year. The Austrian combined athletes, including last year's winner Johannes Lamparter and Styrian Lisa Hirner, want to be at the top of the podium in the pursuit in the exciting combination of ski jumping and cross-country skiing. Two local heroes from Ramsau, Paul Walcher and Franz Josef Rehrl, are also taking part.

On Friday, December 20th, 2024 at 1:15 p.m., the women will be the first to compete in the 5-kilometer mass start, followed by the men in the 10-kilometer mass start. At 3:10 p.m., the women's ski jumping on the Hillsize 98 ski jump is scheduled, and the men will take off from the take-off table at 3:55 p.m. On Saturday, December 21st, 2024, the women will jump at 9:00 a.m. and the men at 9:40 a.m. In the afternoon, the men's 10-kilometer cross-country skiing will start at 1:15 p.m., and the women will start their 5-kilometer race at 3:30 p.m. The celebrity relay competition on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Ramsau cross-country ski stadium is likely to be just as funny as it is exciting.

About Ramsau

The cross-country skiing region Ramsau am Dachstein has long established itself as a paradise for Nordic skiing. It is not for nothing that the place is considered the “training center of the world elite”. The best athletes from all over the world compete here year after year, and many of them have already completed numerous jumps and kilometers of cross-country ski trails in Ramsau during their preparations for the season, because with a total of 220 kilometers of cross-country ski trails, cross-country skiers always find the perfect trail in Ramsau am Dachstein. 125 kilometers are designed for classic cross-country skiing and 95 kilometers for skating - freshly prepared every day - and most of the trails offer a wonderful view of the mighty south faces of the mighty Dachstein, the highest mountain in Styria. Just southwest of the World Cup stadium, in the area of the reservoir, the “Kalis Cross Park” opened its doors last winter. Cross-country skiers of all ages can explore a varied technical course here. The “high-altitude trail” on the Rittisberg has been accessible for several years with a state-of-the-art combination cable car. This connects the area between the mountain station and the summit cross on a 5.5-kilometer-long circular route.
