Smartphone ticket successfully introduced in the Skicircus, on the Schmittenhöhe and on the Kitzsteinhorn.

The three regions of the ALPIN CARD ticket network are taking stock after the first few months of real-time operation with smartphone tickets: SKIDATA's BLE technology has proven to be reliable even at peak times in the main winter season - guests are responding positively to the innovative offer.
100 % digital
Since the beginning of December 2024, more and more winter sports enthusiasts have been using their smartphones as ski tickets in the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski circus, on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and on the Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel in Kaprun. The 100% digital keycard alternative is based on the latest BLE technology: the ski pass is purchased as a smartphone ticket in the online shop of the respective mountain railway and loaded into the app. Once location authorization has been granted and Bluetooth is activated, you can go straight through the turnstile with your smartphone. With Bluetooth Low Energy, battery consumption remains extremely low, especially since the connection is only established when you pass through the turnstile.
pioneering step
The companies in the ALPIN CARD ticket network have taken on a pioneering role for the mountain railway industry with the cross-regional introduction of the smartphone ticket. Those responsible, Isabella Dschulnigg-Geissler (Skicircus), Erich Egger (Schmittenhöhe) and Thomas Maierhofer (Kitzsteinhorn), agree: With the smartphone ticket, the mountain experience is more user-friendly and convenient, administration is more efficient and flexible, and ticketing is more future-proof and sustainable.
