The BIG Family Stubai program offers families a wide range of options for a varied and exciting winter holiday. The program includes family-friendly accommodation, ski schools, the valley's four ski areas and children under 10 receive a free ski pass.
It's no wonder that the Stubai Valley has received multiple awards and certifications as a family ski region, as families in the Stubai Valley can choose between cozy ski areas and Austria's largest glacier ski area, which guarantees snow until May. All the more pleasing is the news that in all four ski areas in the Stubai Valley - Stubai Glacier, Schlick 2000, Serlesbahnen in Mieders and Elferbahnen in Neustift - children up to 10 years of age receive a free ski pass if a parent buys a ski pass in the same ticket category. This applies to day and multi-day tickets as well as the new Stubai Ski Pass (from four days) with free access to all ski areas.
But that's not all: Qualified ski and snowboard instructors from the Stubai snow sports schools offer a variety of courses, including taster courses, family lessons and private lessons, at reduced prices. Children from 4 years of age can take their first "steps" on skis in the BIG Family children's and youth ski camp on the Stubai Glacier and in the BIG Ron's Kinderland in the Schlick 2000 ski center. Parents have the opportunity to accompany their children on the courses. Special learning areas such as King Serli's Kinderland at the Serlesbahnen or the Krössbach practice area at the Elferbahnen offer the little ones a safe environment to learn to ski.
In addition to the ski slopes, there are also other wonderful opportunities to indulge in winter sports in the Stubai Valley. Three ice rinks - the ice arena in Fulpmes, the ice rink in Neustift and the natural ice rink Klaus Äuele - offer the opportunity to ice skate or play curling, while bobsleighing and sliding are possible on the groomed slopes in the Neustift Winter Park.
Incidentally, the Stubai Valley is one of the largest tobogganing regions in Tyrol with ten toboggan runs covering over 41 kilometers. One of the longest toboggan runs runs for over six kilometers from the Elfer to the village center of Neustift. A total of nine runs have been awarded the Tyrolean natural toboggan run seal of approval, four of which are illuminated in the evening. The ascent is easy by cable car, toboggan taxi or on foot. Toboggan rentals and toboggan tickets are available locally and online.
The BIG Family program also includes family-friendly accommodations such as BIG Family Premium Homes and partner companies that are specifically geared to the needs of children. These can be found on the website of the Stubai Tirol Tourism Association can be booked individually or as part of specially created holiday packages. Furthermore, children aged 5 to 15 receive discounts at ski schools, the StuBay adventure pool and the ice rinks with the BIG Family Stubai Winter Card.
