Not only in Austria and Italy: In addition to Norway, Finland, and Sweden, the cable car manufacturer LEITNER is also providing important modernization impetus in France, Greece, and Slovakia. The new cable car projects combine technological innovation, performance, and sustainability, while simultaneously contributing significant added value for guests.

A highlight is the new 10-person gondola lift "Trysilgondolen" in Trysil, Norway's largest ski resort – the first lift with LeitPilot technology in Scandinavia. The lift reaches a speed of 6.5 m/s and is designed for an impressive capacity of up to 4,000 people per hour. It uses premium Diamond EVO X-LINE Deep cabins, offering a high level of comfort and spaciousness. The concept is complemented by 20 event cabins, complete with lighting and tables.
The LeitPilot for autonomous station operation, the energy-efficient LEITNER DirectDrive, and special weights on the cabins for increased wind stability set standards for efficiency and reliable operation. This project continues the successful and intensive collaboration between [company name] and [company name] that has been ongoing for many years. LEITNER and the operator SkiStar.
In Finland, LEITNER is setting a major precedent for further development in the north of the country with the new 6-seater chairlift "Iso Syöte Express". Thanks to an integrated bike transport solution, energy-efficient LEITNER DirectDrive, and compact station design, the lift can be used year-round and significantly expands the offerings in both winter and summer. This further enhances Iso-Syöte's appeal to day visitors from the nearby city of Oulu. This modern lift, the first from LEITNER in the multi-award-winning ski resort, is intended to enable the next stage of development.
Iso-Syöte aims to position itself in the top tier of infrastructure for the long term. Technically, the lift, once fully completed, boasts a length of approximately 1 kilometer, 57 chairs, and a transport capacity of up to 2,800 people per hour. High capacity, smooth operation, and weather independence ensure greater comfort, shorter waiting times, and reliable access to key areas of the slopes. In the Swedish World Cup ski resort of Åre, the new Getvalsliften drag lift complements the existing infrastructure.

Faster transport speeds in French ski resorts
In the Méribel-Mottaret ski area, part of the Les 3 Vallées ski network, the new 10-person gondola lift "Côte Brune" opened at the start of the season. It replaces an existing 4-person chairlift and significantly improves access to a central area of the ski resort. With a travel speed of up to 7 m/s, 50 cabins, and a route length of approximately 2 kilometers, the lift ensures short travel times and a continuous flow of passengers. An additional cabin transports equipment for the maintenance teams. Guests also benefit from weather-protected transport, a smooth ride, and overall greater reliability.
The new "Aiguille Percée" 6-seater chairlift from LEITNER has marked another milestone in modern mobility at the winter sports resort of Tignes. With a capacity of up to 2,400 people per hour, waiting times in the French ski area are significantly reduced. The lift covers a distance of approximately 1 kilometer and climbs about 300 meters in altitude. Its 44 chairs travel at speeds of up to 6 m/s, ensuring a smooth and continuous flow of passengers. The gearless drive system enables quiet, resource-efficient operation and underscores Tignes' commitment to being a high-performance and sustainable winter sports destination.
The "Bois Joli" ski lift in the French winter sports resort of Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 is a compact system. The lift reaches a speed of 2.5 m/s and has a final capacity of 900 people per hour.

Ski resort operators in Eastern and Southern Europe rely on LEITNER
In the Slovakian ski resort Štrbské Pleso, the new 8-seater chairlift „Interski” is being installed.
The "Medvedia Kopa" cable car provides a significant boost to mobility-related development. This modern facility improves access to key ski slopes and offers high-performance, comfortable, and reliable operation. Spanning over 1 kilometer, the cable car overcomes an altitude difference of 190 meters and transports approximately 2,400 people per hour at speeds of up to 5 m/s. Visually, the facility makes a striking impression with its elegant gold-colored design.
Accents and is the first cable car with a Pininfarina-designed station in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland. High-quality chairs with seat heating, leather upholstery, and wind stabilization ensure a particularly comfortable ride.
With the commissioning of the 6-seater "Alexandros" chairlift, the Anilio ski resort in northwestern Greece is taking a significant step towards modernizing its cable car infrastructure. The nearly 1-kilometer-long lift reaches speeds of up to 5 m/s and has a capacity of 1,500 people per hour, making transport for winter sports enthusiasts noticeably more comfortable and efficient. At an altitude of between 1,650 and 1,806 meters, the new chairlift optimizes the flow of people within the ski area and sustainably increases its appeal. At the same time, the new "Anilio" T-bar lift also serves to provide targeted access to additional slopes.
