After the successful premiere in 2024, the new event format called Sound | Escape is entering its second edition. Kitzbühel Tourism Managing Director Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser sees great potential in this new concept: "For many years, our companies have placed a focus on electronic music on the mountain. With Sound | Escape, we have succeeded in combining these forces and connecting our partners on the mountain and in the valley with an innovative concept. We are looking forward to the second edition of an electronic boutique festival at the most beautiful time of winter."
Electronic Beats from the Peaks to the Heart of the City Center
It is widely known that top-class electronic music DJs regularly play in Kitzbühel. With Sound | Escape, the individual initiatives of the individual companies on the mountain and in the valley are bundled in a festival concept. The centerpiece and thus the link between the locations is a large stage - the main stage - in the middle of the historic city center, in the courtyard of the district administration. Special attention is paid to free entry to all locations.
Kick-off on Friday, March 28, 2025: Sound | Escape starts in the afternoon with top-class acts on the mountain. It continues from 4 p.m. at the Kitzbühel Mainstage in the city center. Afterwards, bars and clubs will delight visitors with a perfectly coordinated line-up of international and local acts. Continuation on Saturday, March 29, 2025: From the peaks, it goes down to the valley to the Kitzbühel Mainstage and then on to the businesses. Conclusion on Sunday, March 30, 2025: Chilled conclusion on the mountain.
Line-up & Venues – Headliner included
In total, over 40 DJs will be playing electronic beats at around 20 different locations on the mountain and in the valley over the 3 days of the event. Centrally located in the middle of the 750-year-old city center, the specially created main stage invites you to dance on Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. - food stands with snacks and drinks included. A special highlight: Sven Väth, an internationally known techno legend, is coming to Kitzbühel. As one of the most successful German DJs, he has shaped the scene for over 40 years, founded labels, clubs and careers - and still rocks the decks, with vinyl of course. In 2024, Sven Väth was awarded the BAMBI in the "Culture" category - his laudation was given by none other than world-star pianist Lang Lang.
Good to know
Entry to all locations is free. For some mountain venues, a ticket from Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel is required - advance booking possible online. Most of the businesses in the ski area can also be reached on foot from the gondola. Due to the successful first edition last year and the already high demand, reservations with the participating businesses in advance are recommended. The festival will take place in all weather conditions, subject to short-term changes.
