The region offers a variety of events, spearheaded by the "Schladming Mountain Christmas," which promises a wonderful prelude to the holiday season from November 28th to December 24th. Mill Advent in Ramsau am Dachstein – A hike through history
Still a hidden gem for many, but a long-standing annual tradition for others: the Mill Advent. Each year, the hike focuses on a new theme. The starting point is the lovingly restored Old Mill in Rössing. From there, the festively decorated and illuminated path leads along the Hofrat-Gruber-Weg and the tranquil Philosophenweg, past the historic sites of the former Ramsau watermills, to the rustic Waldschenke (forest tavern) in the village of Ramsau. Along the way, hikers can expect to see traditional crafts, enjoy musical performances, and sample the popular farmhouse bread made from regional grains. Stories are told at various stations along the route. Finally, everyone can treat themselves to hearty snacks and the delicious specialties of the Waldschenke. Every Tuesday, December 2nd, 9th, and 16th, 2025, starting at 3:30 pm.

Advent at Talbach – The Heart of the Mountain Christmas
The Advent Market at Talbach has long been established as one of the highlights of the Advent season in Schladming-Dachstein. From November 28th to December 21st, 2025 (and additionally on Monday, December 8th), the market is open Fridays through Sundays from 4 pm to 8 pm, with food and drink available until 9 pm. Local artists enchant visitors with atmospheric performances on the Advent stage. Young guests can write their letters to the Christ Child at the Angel Post Office. A diverse children's program, numerous craft stalls, and a variety of food and drink options invite visitors to stroll and enjoy the festive atmosphere, creating a magical experience for all ages.

Advent on the Pürgg – The „Nativity Scene of Styria“
On the first two Advent weekends (November 29/30 and December 6/7), the picturesque village of Pürgg transforms into a Christmas masterpiece. A unique Advent market isn't set up in standard stalls: instead, exhibitors open barns, garages, threshing floors, and houses throughout the romantic village to showcase their handcrafted treasures. A diverse program of events enhances the experience: there's baking and crafting with children, tours of the intricate Fahringer Nativity scene, musical and literary performances in the parish church, traditional Krampus plays, the picturesque Glöcklerlauf (bell-ringing procession), guided tours of St. John's Chapel, and a live Nativity scene. All of this immerses Pürgg and its visitors in an unparalleled Advent idyll.

Light Trail in Haus im Ennstal – Experience the „Sky Rivers“
For six years now, the Light Trail has been captivating visitors with innovative light installations. This year, the atmospheric installation bears the poetic title "Rivers of Heaven." The artwork tells of the invisible, powerful currents above us—oceans, rivers, and lakes that carry their streams of water vapor across continents, cities, deserts, forests, and mountains. The Rivers of Heaven connect what is separated, cross borders, and follow no map. They remind us that we humans are also part of this cycle: Our words, actions, and thoughts leave traces; everything changes, yet nothing is lost.
The “Mountain Christmas Packages 2025” – Advent enjoyment with overnight stay
