Zauchensee fans know what they're doing. They get up a little earlier and drive to the slopes in a relaxed manner and with as little traffic as possible. And this winter it's particularly worthwhile.

Skiing days that will stay in your memory forever. You can do this with the Gamskogelbahn I in Zauchensee and with the Highliner I and II in Flachauwinkl, when you drive through the Salzburg mountains in the mild light of the morning sun at 8:00 a.m. The good thing about it? On Sunday mornings, the traffic on the Tauern motorway is still manageable and getting up early is worth it in more ways than one. It is only 700 meters from the motorway to the car park at the cable car in Flachauwinkl - which is almost empty at this time of day - and a few minutes later you are right at the top and in the middle of the ski area. There you are greeted not only by a magnificent view, but also by fantastic, empty and freshly groomed slopes. Skiing days couldn't start better and every turn is pure pleasure when the slopes on the Rosskopf glitter perfectly in the morning sun.

The destination is the Gamskogelhütte at an altitude of 1,900 meters. Here you can take off your skis and go into the warm guest room, where, as a reward for the early start, the tempting smell of fresh coffee and a hearty breakfast with the finest regional specialties await you. The mountain breakfast in Zauchensee is on the program every Sunday between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. until April 20, 2025. Skiers can get up either with the Highliner I and Highliner II cable cars from Flachauwinkl right next to the motorway exit and then down the slope to Zauchensee to the Gamskogelbahn I, which takes you directly to the hut. The second option: directly from Zauchensee with the Gamskogelbahn I. This means that pedestrians can also get straight to the tempting breakfast with an excellent mountain panorama without having to change trains. The sun terrace of the Gamskogelhütte is available for relaxation afterwards.

The limited places for the Gamskogel mountain breakfast can only be booked via the online shop until Saturday at 3:00 p.m. on zauchensee.at The cost, including hot drinks but excluding the lift ticket, is €30 for adults and €18 for children (born between 2009 and 2018). For pedestrians, there is a special package including the ascent and descent with the Gamskogelbahn I for €44 (children's rate €26).
