The largest and most modern ski area in eastern Austria has ceremoniously opened the 2024 ski season with a fantastic VIP ski opening.
On Thursday, December 12, 2024, perfect snow conditions and a “Winter Wonderland” attracted numerous celebrities to the popular ski resort, which is also known for its exceptional hospitality and its prominent VIP openings. The traditional VIP giant slalom once again provided excitement and plenty of action this year, as numerous prominent personalities such as actress Barbara Wussow, musicians Markus Kadensky and Roman Messner, cabaret artists Florian Roehlich and David Krammer, presenter Volker Piesczek, cabaret artists Caroline Athanasiadis and Gudrun Nikodem-Eichenhardt, ex-footballer Michel Konsel, Jürgen Vogl, singer Charlotte Ludwig, cabaret artist Christoph Fälbl, singers Thomas Bröckl and Erwin Bros, presenter Udo Huber, Mr. Ferrari Heribert Kasper, society lady Christina Lugner, cabaret artist Betty O., ex-footballer Walter Schachner, actor Christian Spatzek, tennis player Stefan Koubek, actress Caroline Vasicek, presenter Harry Prünster and actor Albert Fortell drove with great enthusiasm for victory - and not just with speed, but also with a lot of style.
Gerald Fleischhacker commented on the competition with his usual sharp humor and made the spectators laugh with his anecdotes and pointed analyses, and as "forerunners" on the slopes, the ladies and gentlemen of the Mürzzuschlag Winter Sports Museum provided nostalgic moments: They skied the course in historical ski clothing and with classic skis - a real highlight for all ski history lovers.
The managing director of the Stuhleck cable cars, Fabrice Girardoni, was also delighted with the successful start to the season. He is particularly proud of the early snow conditions, which enabled the ski area to open on December 6th. Girardoni emphasised: "It is always a pleasure to welcome so many well-known personalities. The ski opening is a special occasion for us every year to celebrate winter in a unique way. We are delighted that we can offer our guests the best conditions."
Another highlight of the ski opening was the ceremonial dedication of the "chairs" of the popular celebrity lift. This special chairlift, which is decorated with signs of prominent personalities, was given two new names this year: Harry Prünster, the well-known humorist, and the band EDMUND can now look forward to their own "chair" in the Stuhleck ski area.
By the way: Caroline Vasicek and Harry Prünster clearly won the VIP giant slalom.
