In 2025, Kappl will be the venue for three major freeride events: the Freeride Junior World Championships, the Open Faces Freeride Contests and the Dutch Freeride Championships.

From January 12th to 16th, 2025, the best freeride talents in the 15 to 18 age group will meet in Kappl for the Freeride Junior World Championships. Over 15 nations are represented and the participants will demonstrate their skills on the challenging slopes of the Kappl ski area. Technical skills, line selection and control over speed and jumps on unprepared terrain will be evaluated. The competition is considered a career springboard for young athletes looking to enter the international freeride scene.

Open Faces Freeride Contests – part of the Qualifier Tour

From January 24th to 26th, 2025, Kappl will host the Open Faces Freeride Contests, a competition that is an important part of the Freeride World Qualifier Tour. Experienced athletes from all over the world will fight for the crucial points needed to take part in the Freeride World Tour. The competition is characterized by challenging slopes and a wide range of line options. In addition to the sporting challenge, the focus is on performance under changing snow conditions. With its alpine topography, Kappl offers optimal conditions for this international competition.

Dutch Freeride Championships as part of the Poederbaas Festival

Between March 15 and 22, 2025, Kappl will host the Dutch Freeride Championships, a national competition that is part of the Poederbaas Freeride Festival. Around 100 skiers and snowboarders - from amateurs to professional athletes - will compete against each other. In addition to the championship races, participants and spectators will be offered an extensive supporting program, including workshops, community activities and evening events. The Dutch Freeride Championships not only offer exciting competitions, but also promote exchange within the freeride community.
