22 million euros will be invested in a flagship project

Right on schedule, on April 7th, the day after Easter, construction began on the new summit cable car on the Gerlitzen mountain in Carinthia. The new ten-person gondola, representing an investment of 22 million euros, will replace the existing four-person chairlift and will be able to transport significantly more people. According to Gerlitzen-Kanzelbahn-Touristik GmbH, the state-of-the-art cable car technology will provide a noticeable improvement in quality for both winter and summer visitors.

In addition to skiers and snowboarders, winter hikers and summer visitors will soon be able to reach the Gerlitzen summit comfortably, safely, and protected from the weather. The new "Kanzelbahn II" cable car, a flagship project for the company, is scheduled for completion in autumn 2026.

From May 30, 2026, in addition to the Kanzelbahn cable car, which as usual runs from the valley near Lake Ossiach to the Kanzelhöhe adventure arena, the Moserbahn cable car and the Pöllinger chairlift will also be in operation during the summer season, allowing access to the Pöllingerhütte mountain hut. From there, it is another 250 meters of elevation gain to the summit.
