The new and now 17th edition of the only Austrian ski resort guide was presented in the presence of numerous high-profile industry representatives at this year's meeting of the Winter Network in the Tauern Spa in Kaprun.

The new 420-page Ski Guide Austria 2026 once again offers not only a wealth of information on 200 Austrian ski resorts, but also an overview of current developments and trends in the winter and snow sports industry. Fittingly, the 17th edition of Austria's only ski resort guide was presented to the public for the first time this year in a fitting setting: the 3rd Media Forum Future Winter at the Tauern Spa in Kaprun.
Franz Schenner, spokesperson for Netzwerk Winter, the cross-industry opinion-forming platform for winter sports and tourism, recently invited high-profile guests to discuss the status quo and future of Austrian winter sports. Among those participating in the interesting presentations and lively exchange of ideas within the Allianz Zukunft Winter (Future Winter Alliance) were Wolfgang Mayrhofer (spokesperson for the ski industry and General Manager of Atomic), Erich Egger (Deputy Chairman of the Austrian Cable Car Association), Susanne Kraus-Winkler (Chairwoman of the Federal Tourism and Leisure Industry Division), Richard Walter (President of the Austrian Ski Instructors Association), Manova market researcher Klaus Grabler, Teresa Karan (AI specialist and channel developer at the Austrian National Tourist Office), tourism consultant Richard Bauer, Wim Hubrechtsen (CEO of SnowWorld Group, a leading European indoor ski slope operator), Manfred Katzenschlager (Managing Director of the Tourism Division), Erik Wolf (Managing Director of the Cable Car Division), and Manfred Schumi, President of the Club of Business Journalists. The Ski Guide Austria was represented by publisher and author Günter Fritz, author and CVD Fred Fettner, and commercial project manager Werner Hascher.
Following the stimulating and highly informative afternoon and evening sessions, the group headed up to the freshly snow-covered Kitzsteinhorn the next day for the traditional start of the ski season, followed by a visit to the newly constructed and completely redesigned Gletschermühle restaurant, a project costing nine million euros. There, Thomas Maierhofer, CEO of Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG, and Günther Brennsteiner, Technical Director of Gletscherbahnen Kaprun, presented the entire construction project, as well as the new, exclusive Kitzstein Lounge, which was inaugurated with a joint dinner. In conclusion: A thoroughly successful event, where the Ski Guide Austria 2026 It has been met with an extremely positive response.
