Thanks to the mostly good weather and the numerous traditional and cultural experiences, both the stallholders and the visitors to the Salzburg Christmas market are very satisfied. The stallholders all agree that the mood among the visitors is particularly good, especially on the 50th anniversary of the Salzburg Christmas market, and that both locals and guests enjoy the pre-Christmas atmosphere in Salzburg's old town. It was not just the big Krampus run and the children's Santa Claus that attracted thousands of visitors to Salzburg's old town, but also the musical performances such as the atmospheric choirs in front of the cathedral and the sounds of the tower brass players as well as the appearances of the Christ Child and angels. Another popular meeting place is the ice rink on Mozartplatz, where families, friends and couples can do countless laps on the ice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the Christmas market, preparations for the New Year are already in full swing, because on 31.12. it will be transformed into a New Year's Eve market<\/a> and the old town of Salzburg into a stage where tradition and modernity meet. Numerous local artists and music groups ensure a varied end to the year and visitors can look forward to a mixture of classical sounds, modern rhythms and traditional folk songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One issue that has increasingly come into focus in recent years is accessibility. The paths at the Salzburg Christmas market are wide, easy to walk on and free of obstacles, so that people in wheelchairs or walkers as well as families with strollers can move around without any problems. All electrical cables and other installations are laid overhead to avoid tripping hazards and for many years there have been barrier-free toilets with plenty of space. In addition, the staff are trained to provide support when needed and to meet the needs of visitors with disabilities.
