A giant slalom is scheduled for December 28, followed by the slalom on December 29. The event was confirmed by the International Ski Federation (FIS) in coordination with the Austrian Ski Federation (\u00d6SV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upper Austria is celebrating a special sporting comeback. The Alpine Ski World Cup last visited Hinterstoder in 2020 with men&#039;s races. The province had to wait an even longer 34 years for women&#039;s World Cup races. Gosau is now taking over Lienz&#039;s previous venue and thus stepping into the international spotlight for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Governor Thomas Stelzer, the return is a strong signal for Upper Austria as a sporting location. The spectacular backdrop of the Salzkammergut region and the worldwide TV coverage are intended to showcase the region to millions of viewers. State Councilor for Sport Markus Achleitner also sees it as a great opportunity for winter tourism and the regional economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the sporting highlight, the organizers anticipate a significant boost for the hotel and restaurant industry and local businesses. Preparations are already underway in close cooperation between the Dachstein Salzkammergut cable cars, regional ski clubs, the Upper Austrian Ski Association, the Austrian Ski Federation (\u00d6SV), and the International Ski Federation (FIS). &quot;The commitment to host the FIS Women&#039;s Ski World Cup races is a strong sign of confidence in Dachstein West,&quot; emphasizes Rupert Schiefer, Managing Director of the Dachstein Salzkammergut cable cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For ski fans, the World Cup double-header during the Christmas holidays will be a special highlight.
