In the heart of the Silvretta Arena ski area, Ischgl has once again become a stage for ephemeral winter art: At the long-established snow sculpture competition "Forms in White," international teams of artists translated this year's theme, "LEGO\u00ae meets Sports," into monumental snow sculptures. Over several days, highly detailed sculptures were created directly on and beside the ski slopes, combining the iconic LEGO aesthetic with the dynamism of various sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury selected three winners in the competition: First place went to the artist team Armin Rifesser and Ivan Holzknecht from South Tyrol for their toboggan sculpture "Winter Fun in Ischgl". Second place was awarded to the artist team Stefan Malsiner and Thomas Mussner, also from South Tyrol, for their cheerleader sculpture "HO HO HO, Team goooo". Third place went to the father-son artist team Ivo and Damian Piazza, also from South Tyrol, for their bicycle sculpture "Para Olympics \u2013 No Obstacle".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clean lines, minimalist forms, and playful motifs characterize this year's works. From winter sports and motorsports to performance sports, cheerleading, and a Paralympic discipline, the artist teams interpreted the theme with individual approaches and meticulous craftsmanship. The sculptures, some reaching several meters in height, blend seamlessly into the alpine landscape and are accessible only by skis or snowboard. With its combination of snow art, athletic dynamism, and playful design language, "Forms in White" reaffirms its status as one of the creative winter highlights in the Alps in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
